Les Houches, France

High On Adventure has an apartment available to rent, which has two bedrooms, an open plan sitting room and kitchen (with dishwasher and washing machine), bathroom (with shower only) plus garage. One bedroom has a double bed the other has two single beds, with a double sofa bed in the main room.

The apartment is based in the centre of Les Houches, 8km from Chamonix . Situated on the first floor it is surrounded on three sides by a balcony from which you get excellent views of many of the mountains dominating the valley: the Aiguilles Rouges and the midi, Mount Blanc du Tacul the Dru amongst many others.

Fred and Anna run a very welcoming café / bar opposite the apartment “L’Esprit Relax”, next door to which is one of the best restaurants in the Chamonix valley, run by Stefano. You cannot ask for anything more.

The area is an excellent holiday destination year round where you can enjoy valley walks, mountain biking and bolted rock climbs to ascents of the hardest alpine routes and everything in between. Home to the longest off piste route in the World, the area has some of the best skiing and ski touring. Within easy drive of the apartment are the ski resorts of Les Houches (famous for the world downhill, 5 mins by car); Brevent and Flegere (15 mins by car); Argentiere (30 mins by car); Le Tour (35 mins by car); Saint Gervais and Megeve (30mins by car); Les Contamines (40mins by car) and through the Chamonix tunnel to Courmayeur (60 mins by car). This means you can ski a different resort every day in a week’s holiday - legs and hangover dependent!

Hiring a qualified UIAGM Mountain Guide is easily possible within the Chamonix valley and is to be advised if you lack experience in the Alpine environment. We can put you in touch with a number of British Mountain Guides offering Alpine Climbing and Skiing courses in the area.

Resting at the foot of Mont-Blanc, skiing has no equal… combining long deseents through pine and larch forests within view of the spectacular peaks of the "Aiguilles de Chamonix".

Not surprisingly it is the location of regular international events and serves as the training ground for the French National Ski Team.

Pembroke, Wales

Fantastic for surfing, coastal walks, rock climbing and sea kayaking - this area is the UK’s only coastal National Park and one of it’s most beautiful adventure playgrounds. High On Adventure Ltd run courses in rock climbing, sea kayaking and surf kayaking in this area of outstanding natural beauty.

Accommodation is available to rent (independent of any courses) on the outskirts of the pretty fishing village of Solva , which is just 3 miles from St. Davids - the UK ’s smallest city. There is a choice between camping or caravan rental on Llanungar Fach Caravan and Park - a small, friendly family-run business. There is also a self catering cottage available to rent, next to the main Farmhouse.

The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, one of Britain's breathing spaces, takes in about a third of the county including the entire coastal strip, the upper reaches of the Daugleddau (two swords) and the Preseli's. Its the only National Park that is almost all coastal.
